Aviation
In simple words, air law is “the system of regulations controlling the use of airspace and its advantages for aviation, the general public, and states throughout the world.” Air law is concerned with the control of the world’s airways.
Banking & Finance
Banking and finance law focuses on the contractual relationship between lenders and borrowers. In all financial transactions, the main aim is to negotiate and manage this relationship to ensure the represented party’s interests are met both legally and commercially.
Business Law
Business law, also called commercial law or mercantile law, the body of rules, whether by convention, agreement, or national or international legislation, governing the dealings between persons in commercial matters.
Civil Law
Civil law is a system of law or body of rules dealing with the civil or private rights of citizens and not the public at large. It is primarily concerned with the private relations between two or more citizens and is generally codified.
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
NRIs may need an advocate in the Republic of India for various reasons. Here are a few common situations where an advocate can be helpful:
Legal Representation: NRIs may require legal representation in India for matters such as property disputes, inheritance issues, divorce, child custody, or criminal cases. An advocate can provide guidance, represent their interests, and ensure that their legal rights are protected in Indian courts.
Property Matters: NRIs often invest in real estate or have ancestral property in India. Dealing with property-related issues such as buying/selling property, lease agreements, property disputes, or illegal possession may require the expertise of an advocate who can navigate Indian property laws and legal procedures on their behalf.
Financial Transactions: NRIs may need legal assistance when dealing with financial matters in India, such as opening bank accounts, making investments, or resolving banking disputes. An advocate can provide guidance on applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and protect their interests during financial transactions.
Governmental and Administrative Processes: NRIs may encounter various governmental and administrative processes, including obtaining documents, handling legal paperwork, or dealing with government agencies. An advocate can assist in navigating these processes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and representing the NRI’s interests.
Estate Planning and Will Preparation: NRIs may need an advocate’s assistance in preparing wills, trusts, or estate planning documents to manage their assets and ensure smooth succession. An advocate can provide guidance on legal requirements, help draft the necessary documents, and ensure the proper execution of the estate plan.
It’s important to note that laws and legal requirements can vary, and the specific circumstances of each case will determine the need for legal representation. Consulting an advocate with expertise in the relevant area of law can provide NRIs with the necessary guidance and representation to address their legal matters effectively in the Republic of India.
Company Law
The word ‘company’ has no strictly technical or legal meaning. It may be described to imply an association of persons for some common object or objects. The purposes for which people may associate themselves are multifarious and include economic as well as non-economic objectives. But, in common parlance, the word ‘company’ is normally reserved for those associated for economic purposes, i.e., to carry on a business for gain.
Contract Law
The Indian Contract Act, 1872 defines the term “Contract” under its section 2 (h) as “An agreement enforceable by law”. In other words, we can say that a contract is anything that is an agreement and enforceable by the law of the land.
Consumer Protection
The Consumer Protection Bill, 1986 seeks to provide for better protection of the interests of consumers and for the purpose, to make provision for the establishment of Consumer councils and other authorities for the settlement of consumer disputes and for matter connected therewith.
